13. Amazing

14. Boogieman instrumental

2. Eat The Rich

Well I woke up this morning

On the wrong side of the bed

And how I got to thinkin’

About all the things you said

About ordinary people

And how they make you sick

And if callin’ names kicks back on you

Then I hope this does the trick

‘Cause I’m sick of your complainin’

About how many bills

And I’m sick of all your bitchin’

‘Bout your poodles and your pills

And I just can’t see no humor

About your way of life

And I think I can do more for you

With this here fork and knife

(Chorus)

Eat The Rich

There’s only one thing that they are good for

Eat The Rich

Take one bite now – come back for more

Eat The Rich

I gotta get this off my chest

Eat The Rich

Take one bite now – spit out the rest

So I called up my head shrinker

And I told him what I’d done

He said you best go on a diet

Yeah, I hope you have some fun

And a don’t go burst the bubble

On rich folks who get rude

‘Cause you won’t get in no trouble

When you eats that kinda food

Now they’re smokin’ up their junk bonds

And then they go get stiff

And they’re dancin’ in the yacht club

With Muff and uncle Biff

But there’s one good thing that happens

When you toss your pearls to swine

Their attitudes may taste like shit

But go real good with wine

Chorus

Believe in all the good things

That money just can’t buy

Then you won’t get no bellyache

From eatin’ humble pie

I believe in rags to riches

Your inheritance won’t last

So take your Gray Poupon my friend

And shove it up your ass

Chorus

Eat The Rich

There’s only one thing that they are good for

Eat The Rich

Take one bite now – come back for more

Eat The Rich

Don’t stop me now, I’m goin’ crazy

Eat The Rich

That’s my idea of a good time baby

3. Get A Grip

Gotta get a grip

Skin and bones it ain’t such a pity

If you think I’m vain, better shut ya lip

I can’t explain how to be a fat city

You gotta live large, gotta let it rip

Skin and bones it ain’t such a pity

Don’t ya gimme no flack, honey shut ya lip

Ya gotta have stones if you’re livin in the city

If you wanna hang loose gotta get a grip

Once upon a crime I thought I was cool

But I don’t want to brag

Once I crossed the line

I think I musta zigged when I shoulda zagged

Chorus

Same old same old everyday

If things don’t change you’re just gonna rot

Cause if you do what you’ve always done

You’ll always get what you always got

Chorus

Who knows for sure yeah without a doubt

What goes on when the lights are out

Or who pulls in when I pull out

And what is a one-eyed trouser trout?

I was so short-sighted

Now the wrong been righted

I feel so delighted

I get so excited

Chorus

You wanna get high in a New York minute

Choke that smoke, honey crack the whip

Your head gets dead as long as you’re in it

You wanna hang loose gotta get a grip

4. Fever

I got a rip in my pants

And a hole in my brand new shoes

I got a Margarita nose

And a breath full of Mad Dog Booze

(Chorus)

I got the fever, fever, fever, fever

Yeah, they threw me outta jail

I tell ya it ain’t fair

I tried to kiss the judge

From the electrica’ chair

Yeah we’re all here

‘Cause we’re not all there tonight

The guitar’s cranked

And the bass man’s blown a fuse

And when the whole gang bangs

Tell me then what is your excuse?

(Chorus)

Fever gives you lust with an appetite

It hits you like the fangs

From a rattlesnake bite

Yeah we’re all here

‘Cause we’re not all there tonight

We can’t run away from trouble

There ain’t no place that far

But if we do it right at the speed of light

There’s the backseat of my car – caviar

I was feelin’ so high I forgot what day

Now I’m feeling low down

Even slow feels way to fast

And now the booze don’t work

‘Cause the drugs ran out of gas

(Chorus)

The buzz that you’re gettin’

From the crack don’t last

I’d rather be O.D.in’ on the crack of her ass

Yeah we’re all here

‘Cause we’re not all there tonight

My first time ever lover

We fell asleep out on the lawn

And when I woke up I was all alone

Making love to the crack of dawn

So yo, I beg yo pardon sir

The gangster of love rides again

You now I gotta chill

It gimme such a thrill

Like a burnin’ plague

Yeah get outta my way

Fever may be Hell and a cross to bear

As long as I’m in heaven, honey I don’t care

You look so good baby, look so fine

I tell you you’re the image of a perfect crime

You get so tired holdin’ on so tight

If you think you’re goin’ crazy

Well you may be right

Yeah we’re all here

‘Cause we’re not all there tonight

5. Livin On The Edge

There’s something wrong with the world today

I don’t know what it is

Something’s wrong with our eyes

We’re seeing things in a different way

And God knows it ain’t His

It sure ain’t no surprise

(YA!)

(Chorus)

We’re livin’ on the edge

We’re livin’ on the edge

We’re livin’ on the edge

We’re livin’ on the edge

There’s something wrong with the world today

The lightbulb’s gettin’ dim

There’s a meltdown in the sky

If you can judge a wise man

By the color of his skin

Then mister, you’re a better man than I

(Chorus)

Livin’ on the edge

You can’t help yourself from fallin’

Livin’ on the edge

You can’t help yourself from fallin’

Livin’ on the edge

You can’t help yourself from fallin’

Livin’ on the edge

You can’t help yourself from fallin’

Tell me what you think about your situation

Complication – aggravation

Is getting to you

If chicken little tells you that the sky is fallin’

Even if it wasn’t would you still come crawling

Back again – I bet you would my friend

Again & Again & Again & Again & Again

Tell me what you think about your situation

Complication – aggravation

Is getting to you

If chicken little tells you that the sky is fallin’

Even if it wasn’t would you still come crawling

Back again – I bet you would my friend

Again & Again & Again & Again

Something right with the world today

And everybody knows it’s wrong

But we can tell ‘em no

Or we can let it go

But I would rather be a hanging on

(Chorus)

yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

6. Flesh

The day rolls in, the night rolls out

Desire rules without a doubt

The heart beats fast, you salivate

And when you come, it won’t be late

I guess by now, you got the score

A little taste you want it more

From San Antone to Marrakesh

Yeah, when the night comes

Everybody’s gotta have Flesh

Flesh – the only thing that’s worth the sweat

From the day that Eve did Adam

Down to Romeo and Juliet

Everybody gotta have

The prince of lust has met his match

The witch has brewed her baddest batch

His sword is sharp and hard as stone

Her cauldron begs for one more bone

And so my love, this story’s told

From modern times to days of old

From Boston, Mass to Bangladesh

Yeah, when the night comes

Everybody’s gotta have Flesh

Flesh – It’s got me all soaking wet

from the Mississippi River

To the highest mountain in Tibet

Everybody gotta have

Flesh – you got me all soakin’ wet

Flesh – the only thing that’s worth the sweat

Flesh – you got me all soakin’ wet

Flesh – the only thing, the only thing, the only thing

From a Sufi in a Rickshaw

To a bimbo in a pink Corvette

Everybody gotta have

7. Walk On Down

You wonder why you got holes in your shoes

You wonder why they got more money than you

You wonder why you got nothin’ to lose

It makes no sense, don’t try to figure it out

You gotta – Walk On Down

Walk On Down – Walk On Down

When you’re shit outta luck

There’s just one thing to do and that’s

Walk On Down – Walk On Down – Walk On Down

When you’re shit outta luck

There’s just one thing to do and that’s

Yeah, huh

Well, she says that she loves you

In your mind there’s no doubt

You feel like a stranger

When the lights go out

As you lie there awake you think

‘This ain’t no gift’

Don’t try to figure

That weight’s to heavy to lift

You gotta – Walk On Down

Walk On Down – Walk On Down

When you’re shit outta luck

There’s just one thing to do and that’s

Walk On Down – Walk On Down

‘Cause I got no time to lose

It’s my life if I choose

Put on my walking shoes

Walk On Down – Walk On Down – Walk On Down

When you’re shit outta luck

There’s just one thing to do and that’s

Walk On Down – Walk On Down – Walk On Down

When you’re shit outta luck

There’s just one thing to do and that’s

Walk On Down

8. Shut Up and Dance

Talk is cheap, Shut Up And Dance

Don’t get deep, Shut Up And Dance

Love has got me down

A tear just hit the ground

So I started writing you this song

But the words I wrote came out all wrong

Yeah, but it’s all right

(Chorus)

When you can’t define the crime

The life ain’t worth a dime

When they take away everything you got

And they rub your nose in the funky spot

Not without a fight

(Chorus)

When you work your fingers to the bone

Now what does that get you – Nothing

In a crowd of people you’re still alone

And you hope that tells you – Something

The road to Heaven is paved in Hell

And it makes you wonder

Why we’re here at all

Check out the shape of your circumstance

He wears the dress and she wears the pants

Here comes Jill and she needs romance

But you can’t do jack so Shut Up And Dance

Sex is like a gun – You aim, you shoot, you run

When you’re splittin’ heads with Mr Clean

It’s like gettin’ head from a guillotine

And the night has just begun

Chorus

9. Cryin

There was a time

When I was so brokenhearted

Love wasn’t much of a friend of mine

The tables have turned, yeah

Cause me and them ways have parted

That kind of love was the killin kind

All I want is someone I can’t resist

I know all I need to know

By the way that you kiss

I was cryin when I met you

Now I’m tryin to forget you

Love is sweet misery

I was cryin just to get you

Now I’m dyin cause I let you

Do what you do down on me

Now there’s not even breathin room

Between pleasure and pain

Yeah, you cry when we’re makin love

Must be one and the same

It’s down on me

Yeah, I got to tell you one thing

It’s been on my mind

Girl, I gotta say

We’re partners in crime

You got that certain something

What you give to me

Takes my breath away

Now the word out on the street

Is the devil’s in your kiss

If our love goes up in flames

It’s a fire I can’t resist

I was cryin when I met you

Now I’m tryin to forget you

Your love is sweet misery

I was cryin just to get you

Now I’m dyin cause I let you

Do what you do down on me

Cause what you got inside

Ain’t where your love should stay

Yeah, our love, sweet love, ain’t love

Til you give your heart away

I was cryin when I met you

Now I’m tryin to forget you

Your love is sweet misery

I was cryin just to get you

Now I’m dyin cause I let you

Do what you do what you do down to me

10. Gotta Love It

Psychedelic Sandwich

Any way you can feel it

You shouldn’t try to conceal it baby

You got to make up your mind

Any way I can steal it

Any way you can deal it to me

You know the pleasure’s all mine

(Chorus)

You gotta love it

You better own it

You gotta love it

And God knows it

You gotta shut uh shove it

I’m gonna make things happen

Goin’ round n’ round n’ round…

That’s Right!

I wanna say you’re a firecracker

I wanna say you’re a switchblade knife

You make your sex a career

Comin’ down from an all night tripper

Pull your foot from the ruby slipper

‘Cause you can’t get it from here

(Chorus)

Goin’ round n’ round n’ round n’ round….

I got this feeling deep inside my love

Overwhelming feeling but I know not what

One thing’s for sure I ain’t got time for those

Who can’t relate

You gotta learn to love the midnight madness

You gotta revel in the good and badness

If Yin n’ Yang is your thing

What I gotta do to try and reach ya

Is it for real or just a double feature

So let’s go throw the I Ching

Chorus

11. Crazy

Come here baby

You know you drive me up the wall

The way you make good for all the nasty tricks you pull

Seems like we’re makin’ up more than we’re makin’ love

And it always seems you’ve got something on your mind

Other than me

Girl, you gotta change your crazy ways – you hear me

Say you’re leavin’ on the seven thirty train

And that you’re heading out to Hollywood

Girl, you’ve been givin’ me that line so many times

It kinda gets that feelin’ bad looks good

That kinda lovin’ turns a man to a slave

That kinda lovin’ sends a man right to his grave

(Chorus)

I go crazy, crazy, baby, I go crazy

You turn it on – then you’re gone

Yeah you drive me crazy, crazy, crazy for you baby

What can I do, honey

I feel like the color blue

You’re packin’ up your stuff and tryin’ to tell me

That it’s time to go

But I know you ain’t wearin’ nothin’ underneath that

overcoat and that it’s all a show

That kinda lovin’ makes me wanna pull down the shade, yeah

That kinda lovin’ yeah, now I’m never gonna be the same

(Chorus)

I’m losing my mind

Girl, ’cause I’m goin’ crazy

I need your love, honey, yeah

I need your love

(Chorus)

12. Line Up

If you think that you’re strong

Wanna fight well come on

And Line Up

When the goin’ gets tough

And your talk ain’t enough then come on

And Line Up

We gotta get up, get out before they get us down

‘Cause livin’ up against the wall, yeah

Has got us locked up

Come on and Line Up

So don’t be surprised

When they pull the wool over your eyes

Yeah, don’t get funked up

If you got all the stuff

And you can’t get enough

Then Line Up

If you’re out on a limb

And you wanna come in

Then Line Up

Your head’s down, sittin’ ’round

Pick yo face up off the ground

And get yourself together baby

And learn to stand tough

Come on an Line Up

We better get to it

Instead of just standin’ around

It’s time to get down

If you’re playin’ to win

Then your only way in

Is Line Up

If we all wanna live

Then we all gotta give

Line Up

We gotta get up, get out

Before they get us down

‘Cause livin’ up against the wall, yeah

Has got us locked up

Come on and Line Up

You better get to it

Instead of just standin’ around

Yeah, it’s time to get down

If you got all the stuff

And you can’t get enough

Then Line Up – Line Up

If you think that you’re strong

Wanna fight well come on

And Line Up – Line Up

13. Amazing

I kept the right ones out

And let the wrong ones in

Had a angel of mercy to see me

Through all my sins

There were times in my life

When I was goin insane

Tryin to walk through the pain

When I lost my grip

And I hit the floor

Yeah, I thought I could leave

But couldn’t get out the door

I was so sick and tired

Of livin a lie

I was wishin that I would die

It’s amazin

With the blink of an eye

You finally see the light

It’s amazin

When the moment arrives

That you know you’ll be alright

And I’m sayin a prayer

For the desperate hearts tonight

That one last shot’s a permanent vacation

And how high can you fly with broken wings?

Life’s a journey, not a destination

And I just can’t tell just what tomorrow will bring

You have to learn to crawl

Before you learn to walk

But I just couldn’t listen to

All that righteous talk

I was out on the street just tryin to survive

Scratchin to stay alive

Chorus

Once Aerosmith was formed and their group members finalized in 1971, they began playing local shows and garnered some attention from talent scouts who were on the lookout for the next great band. Aerosmith were booked through the Ed Malhoit Agency, and would later sign a promo deal with Frank Connelly. Aerosmith’s signing with Frank Connelly would prove to be the turning point in the band’s career. It wasn’t too long before the band signed on with David Krebs and Steve Leber. The pair invited Columbia Records to see Aerosmith perform live at Max’s Kansas City Club in New York City. Aerosmith however, wasn’t scheduled to play at the club on the night that Columbia Records were there and the group had to pay there way onto the bill. That decision was probably the best decision in Aerosmith’s early years. Columbia Records were very impressed with the band and signed them in 1972 for a reported $125,000. A year later, Aerosmith released their self titled debut album ‘Aerosmith’.

Aerosmith’s sound of hard rock with blues influences was very appealing to the generation of music fans, and thus the band had an instant following.

Their debut album peaked on the charts at 166, with the song ‘Dream On’ claiming top spot at #59.

The album initially hit gold status, but over a ten year period Aerosmith’s debut album went on to sell 2 million copies, turning their gold record into a double platinum.

In 1974, Aerosmith released their second album titled “Get Your Wings”. Get Your Wings was the first of many Aerosmith albums produced by Jack Douglas to reach platinum status.

In 1975 Aerosmith took their local success to the international stage with their ‘Toys in the Attic’ album. This album would ultimately put them on the same stage as the likes of Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.

Toys in the Attic’s Sweet Emotion song was very successful. It was the band’s first top 40 hit, and ‘Walk this Way’ was re-released in 1976 and reached top 10 on the charts.

Then there was “Big Ten Inch Record” which was a song originally recorded by Bull Moose Jackson. This song would go one to become concert must plays. Because of the song’s success, Aerosmith’s previous albums re-charted. The albums popularity spawned a concert tour for the band. This album and tour was the start or Aerosmith superstardum. It was also during this time that Aerosmith laid down their foundation in Waltham Massachusetts. The Wherehouse” as it was known was everything Aerosmith. This was where the band would rehearse and record their music, as well as conduct business.

Toys in the Attic went on to become Aerosmith’s best selling studio album with recorded U.S.A. sales of eight millions copies.

In 1969, Yonkers New York native, Steven Tyler was vacationing in Sunapee, New Hampshire. There, he met a dishwasher at the Anchorage in Sunapee Harbor by the name of Joe Perry, who at the time, was playing in a band called the Jam Band with bassist Tom Hamilton and drummer, David Scott. Steven Tyler who was a drummer/vocalist in many unsuccessful bands such as The Chain, Fox Chase and William Proud, hit it off with Joe Perry and soon after their first meeting in New Hampshire, Aerosmith was born.

In September of 1970, Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where they met up with another Yonkers native who was an acquaintance and admirer of Steven Tyler, Joey Kramer.

Joey Kramer was studying music at Berklee College of Music at the time, but decided to quit his studies and solely focus on his impending music career. One month later, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer got together with Steven Tyler, and Aerosmith was born.

Joey Kramer suggested the name Aerosmith for the band because it was a name that he had continuously written in his notebooks while in high School. The name was not a hit with the rest of the band members at first because it reminded them of the book Arrowsmith which they were forced to read in high school. Joey Kramer told them that it would be spelled AEROSMITH, not Arrowsmith. The band members all agreed on the name Aerosmith, and the group began making plans for their music careers.

Soon after the foursome branded their band Aerosmith, they added another member to the group. Ray Tabano was a childhood friend of Steven Tyler and guitar player. He played rhythm guitar.

Aerosmith began playing local gigs in 1971, but Ray Tabano did not fit into the band and was replaced by another Berklee School of Music student, Brad Whitford.

Shortly after Aerosmith began playing local shows in Boston, a following began to occur. In 1972 Aerosmith’s big break came by the way of a record deal. They were signed by Columbia Records, and thus began their journey into the music world.

In 1973, Aerosmith released their first debut album called, Aerosmith, but it wasn’t until 1975 that Aerosmith broke into the mainstream music scene, with their Toys in the Attic album. They followed with another successful album in 1976 called Rocks. Rocks was extremely successful and Aerosmith were branded as the Superstars of hard rock.

In just a few years, Aerosmith went from complete obscurity, to becoming one of the best and most recognized hard rock bands in the world.

Their fame and fortune also brought an array of problems with drug addiction which led to the departure of Joe Perry in 1979 and Whitford in 1981. The pair were replaced by Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay. The band wasn’t the same however, and Aerosmith would only release one album during the period of 1980 to 1984. Rock in a Hard Place went gold but did not equal the success of Aerosmith’s previous albums.

In 1984, Joe Perry and Whitford rejoined Aerosmith who signed on with Geffen Records. Although a new label signaled a new beginning, it wasn’t until 1987, after the band had become sober, that they once again reached star status.

In 1987, Aerosmith released their album, Permanent Vacation which was a huge hit. They followed with another successful album named Pump in 1989. In 1993, Aerosmith released Get a Grip which was a huge success.

The Band has been together for 39 years and are still going strong.
